Your rights for sexual orientation in the workplace soon include violations pursuant to Federal Statute as well as current State Statutes, as Supreme Court of the United States has been asked to Rule on this issue.
Please know, that New York State Law prohibits discrimination in the workplace due to a person’s sexual orientaiton or perceived sexual orientation. A lot of times, the employee is afraid to formally complain about the discrimination against them becuase of retaliation against them. But, the same Law prohibits retaliation for complaining. Still, the potential of being retaliated agaisnt at work, it a terrible feeling, not knowing what they will do to you next. Usually, I get the call when a person truly has had enough and it is effecting their health and private life. Just remember if you need to know what to do let me know.
